For the animation short I picked another Wagner Opera as inspiration. This time his romantic opera "lohengrin" was the choice. The choice was influenced by an animated pilot by Kondo Yoshifumi from Ghibli fame.
I chose 2:23-2:36 for the animation. I was planning on to 3:03 but the workload was too much. I'll try to finish it over the summer if I can.
The whole work is like an sudden burst of energy. the string instruments darting across the screen in rapid directions whilst the single note of the horns shoot straight like an arrow in unison with each other.
For the perceived "second part" I painted some possible ideas of what could happen. Above this text I Imagined the high pitched stringed instruments coarsing in the sky whilst the horned instruments waxes and wanes at the bottom, both expand to cover the whole screen with light by the climax.
with the ones below I thought of pillars of light shotting up from the ground as the strings fly across the sky. The pillars shoot up and fall down depending on when the horns are used. I decided to possibly include different angles to show the power of the horns.
